Dana Kathleen Shepherd

(August 2,1946 – December 30, 2014)

Dana Kathleen "Kathy" Martin, 68, of Huntsville, Ala., died on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014.Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Valerie Shepherd; and her brothers, Philip and Mike Shepherd.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Bill W. Martin; her children, Philip Martin, Patrick Martin and wife Estrella, and John Martin and wife Nicole; her sisters, Janet Utley, Kris Shepherd, Suzanne Cook and Margaret Rose Shepherd; her brothers, Pat, Tommy and Peter Shepherd; and her grandchildren, Jack Martin and Arya Martin.

Lasting memorials may be made to the Northeast Arkansas Humane Society, P.O. Box 1042, Jonesboro 72403.

"Kathy is the first of my Catholic school girl friends to leave this world. I am so grateful to Gayle Willett Barnett for arranging a get-together of several of us in the summer of 2013 when Kathy was visiting her family in Jonesboro. Rest in Peace, Kathy.”

“Kathy Shepherd Martin was our first classmate to receive a graduation diploma at the May 1964 commencement ceremonies as we were partners when we led  the processional out of the old main high school building to the outside event.  I had the privilege to befriend Kathy and her family through her long and close association with my deceased spouse Helen Grace Barker.  I send my most sincere condolences to her husband Bill Martin and their family as well as Kathy's brothers and sisters.”
